Home Improvements

We continued making improvements to our Raymore home. One of the most fun projects was to cover the garage floor with special plastic tiles that are free floating but locked together. The 14-square-inch tiles come in many colors. I designed the three bays of the garage to represent sports team symbols: Kansas City baseball Royals (blue and white), Kansas City football Chiefs (red and white), and Green Bay football Packers (green and gold).

The Guest bathroom and the Laundry room in the Raymore house are internal rooms and very dark during the daytime so we added Sun Tunnel skylights. The laundry was so small that the door banged against the dryer when opened. One had to go into the laundry and close the door behind you in order to get the dryer open. We sold the washing machine and the dryer. We added a water softener and a single washer-dryer unit. The washer is top loading and with a front loading dryer above, there is no bending over for access to either machine. We removed the standard swinging door and replaced it with a folding door, no more door banging into machines.
